In 2014 the partners of Next Level Real Estate started a small hotel in a deserted village close to the Casentino Forest in Tuscany with two goals: bring the village back to life and to provide learning experiences on classical farming, food production, and culture.
Remote places like Gello are present in many areas of the Italian and European territory in general, with similar characteristics and equally same epilogues: steep lands in which the scarcity of resources has made contemporary living increasingly complex until a progressive abandonment.
Respecting the complex’ architectural heritage, local context and the strength of a typological memory, we embraced the buildings, approaching its vernacular past with a contemporary view.
